Welcome to Cape Fear HealthNet
Whether you are an uninsured person needing access to health care, a medical professional who would like to donate services, a healthcare organization that would like to participate, or a community member who can provide volunteer or financial support – Cape Fear HealthNet wants to work with you. According to the North Carolina Institute of Medicine, between 2007 and 2009 North Carolina had the nation’s largest percent growth in uninsured – 22.5%. This means more than 20,000 people in our communities – friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors — have no health insurance and can’t afford medical care.
The mission of Cape Fear HealthNet is to create a coordinated system of health care for the poor and uninsured in Brunswick and New Hanover counties, and to increase the capacity of health care safety net providers by ensuring that low-income residents have access to a medical home, receive preventive services, and avoid unnecessary health complications resulting in a better, healthier quality of life.
With our collaborative partners, we are making a difference every day. Soon we’ll be expanding to provide some services in Pender and Columbus counties. Please check back for updates.
